Portland Pumpkin Patch

Fall is here, and our favorite fall activity is pumpkin patching. Yep, I’ve made that a verb. We love exploring all the amazing pumpkin patches in the Portland area on sunny days, foggy mornings and even in the rain. Rain boots are a must and gives my boys permission to slog through the mud, splash in the puddles and just have lots of farm fun.

Because we are such pumpkin patch fans, we try to visit as many as possible during the fall season. We love supporting local farms and exploring everything pumpkin. Although there’s never enough time to visit them all!

And with that, I would love to share my list of local pumpkin patches. I have organized them by area, although I’m pretty directionally challenged, so take my general directions as a start and make sure to map them before planning out your adventures. This also goes for the hours and days that they are open. Please make sure to check their website before heading out to make sure the information is up to date.

SOUTH

Bauman Farms (Gervais, OR)

This pumpkin patch has a ton of activities to do. As in, if you want a full day of fun, this is a great option. There are bounce houses, mazes (corn, hay, dark), little kid areas, hay rides, farm animals and so much more. And of course a pumpkin patch. (Per their website, there are more than 25 activities for kids of all ages.)

One thing to note is that there is a general admission charge for ALL visitors over the age of 2 and there are also unlimited wristbands that you can purchase. We usually do the wristbands since we plan to be there the whole day. Also, this place is pretty popular, so we always try to visit early in the season (or during the week would probably also be less crowded) so we don’t waste time standing in lines.

Hours are Sunday through Friday 9am-5pm and Saturdays 9am-6pm

Fiala Farms (West Linn, OR)

This is a great smaller farm to visit if you’re looking for a more low key adventure. They have a pumpkin patch to cut your own pumpkins and a fun washing station that is my boys’ favorite part. There are tractor wagon rides on the weekends and a corn maze as well (open every day).

There is no cost to enter this pumpkin patch, you just pay for the pumpkins (or yummy jams, produce and other items they sell in the store). We haven’t been there yet this year, so not sure about the cost for the corn maze or wagon ride.

Hours are Monday through Friday 10am-6pm & Saturday-Sunday 10am-5pm

Website (Their official website doesn’t seem to be working, but don’t let that stop you. They are always so friendly and sweet there and it makes for a perfect quick pumpkin patch adventure!)

Fir Point Farms (Canby, OR)

This is another farm with plenty of activities to keep your family busy for awhile. They have bouncy houses, bikes, cow trains, slides, paint ball, a corn maze, farm animals and more.

My boys love feeding the goats and watching them climb up the ramps, as well as exploring all the other activities (the paint ball is a new favorite activity for the older two!)

Hours are Saturday & Sunday 9am-5pm (with activities starting at 10am)

The Flower Farmer (Canby, OR)

This is a smaller pumpkin patch, but still so much fun. It has a train that takes you around the farm with stops to see farm animals and the pumpkin patch and hay pyramid. There is also a boo train that operates some evenings, but we haven’t checked that out yet.

This is a must do for my boys every year. It may not be as big as some of the others, but it has something that they all love. The little one loves the train (who wouldn’t?) and the older 2 love the hay pyramid. We bring their head lamps and they wander through that thing over and over again peeking out of the different entrances and climbing up to the top.

Hours are 10-6 daily

Frog Pond Farm (Wilsonville, OR)

Their pumpkin patch is new this year and I think they did a great job with it! There were lots of activities to do (including farm animals, cow train rides, hay maze, sling shot, a hay ride to the pumpkin patch and more) and I loved that it was pretty fenced in to keep track of the littles!

Some things to note are that this is another pumpkin patch that you pay to get in, but includes all activities. On weekdays it is less expensive, but some activities are not available.

Hours are: Monday – Friday 12pm-6pm and Saturday – Sunday 9am-5pm

Website

Lee Farms (Tualatin, OR)

This is another farm with plenty of activities to keep busy. There is a cornmaze, hayrides, pony rides (on weekends only), farm animals and much more.

If you happen to miss them during the fall, they also have other festivals throughout the year including Christmas trees, a berry festival, and a sunflower festival (new this year!).

Hours are Monday-Friday 12pm-6pm, Saturday-Sunday 9am-6pm

French Prairie Gardens (St. Paul, OR)

Sooey! (As I’ve learned from watching their pig races, that’s the way to call pigs). This farm not only has plenty of activities to do, but also has some fun pig races to watch. You get to meet Farmer John and Farmer Eric as they tell you about the farm and lead some exciting pig races. Choose wisely and you may even win yourself a pig nose!

They also have slides, farm animals, a corn maze, a pig barrel train, of course a pumpkin patch and lots of other activities! This is also a place where you need to pay for entry, but we just get the wristbands and let the boys play play play. I’m not sure if it’s new this year or I just missed it in years past, but they also have an apple orchard for picking!

Hours are Fridays 12pm-6pm, Saturday-Sunday 9am-6pm

WEST

Hoffman Farms Store (Beaverton, OR)

This is the first year we ventured to this farm for pumpkins (although apparently this is only their 2nd year doing the pumpkin patch thing, so I’m not too far behind). We came here a few times in the summer for berry picking (strawberries, blueberries and raspberries – yum!), so we had to check out their fall festivities.

New this year they have an adorable train that takes you around the farm as well as to the pumpkin patch. They also have a corn maze, barrel train, bouncy castle and play area. It was a lot of fun and everyone there is always so sweet and helpful.

Hours are Thursday – Sunday 10am-5pm

Website

Oregon Heritage Farms (Hillsboro, OR)

While this place has a pumpkin patch, the real star of the show here is their apples! While you can’t pick them here, you can buy some of their amazing varieties at the store. And my favorite part? Their caramel apples, which they will cut up for you so you can eat them easier! Yum!

In addition to the yummy treats (apple cider slushy, anyone?), they also have activities for the kids. My boys love their apple bounce house. They also have an apple rope maze, farm animals, mini hay maze and hay rides and apple slingshots on the weekends.

Hours are 10am-5pm daily

Plumper Pumpkin Patch & Tree Farm (Portland, OR)

This is another place where you could spend the whole day if you wanted. They have hayrides, pumpkin bowling, play areas, pony rides (on the weekends), barrel train and a whole lot more. They also have lots of farm animals to check out and feed.

My oldest loves the apple and pumpkin cannons where he can shoot them at targets including some old cars. And of course, there are lots of different varieties of pumpkins to choose from!

Hours are 9am-5:30pm daily

Red Berry Barn (Sherwood, OR)

I only recently heard about this one (for pumpkin season) so not sure if it’s a new thing for them or if I was just slow to hear the news. Either way it sounds super fun and I have plans to check it out soon!

They have bounce houses, slides, a haymaze, corn maze, barrel train and a whole lot more. They even have a special deal Monday through Wednesday until noon with wristbands, so that will be perfect to take the youngest to while his brothers are in school. Once I have a chance to check it out, I’ll update this post with pictures!

Update – I finally checked this one out and it was perfect for the littles! My 3 year old LOVED all the trucks in the sandbox and zooming around on the plasma cars. And they had an adorable photo area set up along with some fun props like bee and ladybug headbands.

Hours are 9am-6pm daily

Website

Roloff Farms (Helvatia, OR)

This farm is unique in that it was featured on the TLC series “Little People, Big World.” But even if it wasn’t famous, there is still so much to see and do here. They have wagon tours, pony rides, a kiddy train, animals, a spooky forest trail loop, and of course a pumpkin patch and many more activities.

This is another pumpkin patch that you will have to pay just to go in. But there’s so much stuff to do in there, it will be worth it! This is also one that you probably want to get to earlier in the season because it gets pretty busy.

Hours are Friday-Sunday 10am-5:30pm

NORTH

Bella Organic (Portland, OR – Sauvie Island)

They have a large corn maze (as well as a haunted one on weekend evening), cow train, hayrides out to the pumpkin patch, farm animals and more. And like all the farms, make sure to bring some rain boots so you don’t have to worry about any mud!

One thing to note is that all the activities and outside booths are cash only, so make sure to stop at the ATM on your way!

Hours are Sunday-Thursday 9am-6pm, Friday-Saturday 9am-10pm (for the haunted corn maze)

Website

BiZi Farms (Vancouver, WA)

This is one that has been on my list to visit for years, but have never made it up there yet. Apparently having to cross the river into Washington makes it feel that much farther? But it’s high time that we explore it since it looks like so much fun!

This is one that you have to pay to enter, but it includes quite a bit. They have a corn maze, wagon ride, farm animals, lots of kids activities, and it even includes a pumpkin and a hot drink!

Hours are Fridays 2-5:30, Saturday-Sunday 10am-5:30pm

Website

Fazio Farms (Portland, OR)

Yet another amazing looking pumpkin patch that I haven’t made it to yet. There aren’t enough days in the pumpkin patch season!

This one has a hayride out to the pumpkin patch, corn maze, and quite a few covered activities that would be great to visit on a rainy day! They have the wristband system as well as tokens for activities. But what I really love is that they do a toy drive during the season. For every new unwrapped toy, you can get 50% off of a wristband. Win/win!

Hours are Monday-Friday 4pm-8pm, Saturday-Sunday 9am-8pm

Website

Kruger’s Farm (Portland, OR – Sauvie Island)

They pride themselves in more farm based activities. They have hayrides to the pumpkin patch, a corn maze, farm animals and pony rides on the weekends. On most days they have a variety of food options and of course some caramel apples!

One of the best parts of this farm is the Pumpkin package they offer which includes 2 corn maze tickets, 2 pumpkins, 2 caramel apples & 2 roasted corn. So make sure to look into that before deciding how to spend your money there!

Kruger's - Caramel apple!

Hours are Monday-Thursday 9am-6pm, Friday-Saturday 9am-10pm, Sunday 9am-7pm (weekday activities are open “weather permitting”)

Website

The Pumpkin Patch (Portland, OR – Sauvie Island)

This pumpkin patch has a big corn maze. You can even pick up clue cards in different themes to help guide you through the maze. My boys usually each pick a different theme and have fun trying to answer the trivia questions.

They also have hay rides out to the beautiful pumpkin patch (perfect spot for taking some pictures!), an animal barn and a cow train (on the weekends). They have a market with produce and other yummy things, a coffee shop and a cafe to grab some food for more pumpkin patching energy.

Hours are 9am-6pm daily (most activities start at 10am)

Website

EAST

Bushue’s Family Farm (Boring, OR)

They have hay rides out to the pumpkin patch and some undercover play areas for big and little kids to warm up in or just to take a break. They have pig trains, farm animals and a tradition of dirt babies to build and take home to watch grow.

There isn’t much food there during the week, so be prepared for that, but they usually have some fresh apple cider donuts to snack on!

Hours are Tuesday-Sunday 10am-5pm

Website

Liepold Farms (Boring, OR)

They have a corn maze (usually including some door choices in the middle which is super exciting to my boys), dark maze, kid’s pavilion (which is great for the littles!), apple-pult, and a hayride around the farm. We’ve been going to this one off and on since before we even had the kids, so this is always a favorite when we make it out here!

You must purchase a general admission ticket or pass to park and enter the festival grounds. We usually get the complete festival pass so we can explore it all!

Hours are Daily 9am-5pm (weather dependent)

Website

Olson Farms (Damascus, OR)

One unique thing about this farm is that along with Cowboy Carriage, they offer free horse drawn hayrides to the pumpkin patch (weather dependent) on certain days. They also have a caterpillar barrel train and apple sling shot!

Hours are ? I haven’t been able to find out this information yet via website, fb or calling, but hopefully they update it soon!
