The Birth of Baby L | Portland, OR Birth Photographer

At 8:51 am, my phone buzzes with a text, “We think the baby is coming. We will keep you posted.”

At 10:01 am it buzzes again, “We’re on the way to the birth center!”

I grab my gear and head to the birth center in Beaverton, and by the afternoon, sweet baby L was born.

Every birth is so different and I love when I am invited into their birth space to capture their unique story.  Birth photography allows me to capture the emotions on that day and document an amazing life changing event.  It shows how incredible and strong women are, how much support and love surrounds them and reminds them of the little details of the day that might otherwise be forgotten.

And this first time mama and her birth were no exception.  She was surrounded by her husband, family and birth team and they all played different roles as she labored to bring this beautiful boy into the world.

After all of that hard work and support, he was here.  And loved.  And passed around and shown off and snuggled.  Such a big day for him, Mom and everyone in that room.  This is their birth story and I’m honored I was invited in to capture it for them. . .
