The J Family is always so much fun to photograph.
I have always loved kids and couldn’t wait until I was old enough to babysit. I even worked at a daycare in college snuggling babies and reading to toddlers. Sometimes I’m in awe that my job includes hanging out with adorable kids and capturing their personalities. I love when they want to show off their rooms or favorite toys and I make it my goal to have fun with them and get them to open up with me so I can capture the real them. And that was easy to do with this sweet family!
But I don’t want to forget about the older ones! They are often not too excited to have their picture taken as they head into their teenage years, but that’s the beauty of documentary sessions. They can just show me what they love (in this case hanging out with little siblings and playing soccer in the backyard) and relax at home as I get to know the real them and capture that for mom & dad.
Since it was such a gorgeous day, we were able to go outside to play during their session. That swing set has had some good use and I was so happy to get the opportunity to capture them at play. It also made me wish we had one like that in our backyard for my boys to get their energy out!
